Gym and Fitness Center Heraklion | Crete
The design process started with a plan that first identified all the important areas of the project. A research into what people felt and needed when they went to the gym and what short of machine would interest them or discourage them from use. Anthropometric data would have to be collected and used in the design process.
Geometrical forms run over the vertical surfaces of the space differentiated through texture and materiality. The plywood turns into mirror - plaster - metal. One space “divided’’ by color and texture.
The ciel rubber material expands through the floor and the wall. Black tatami covers the main area till the glass façade. A metal element designed as a high bar – multi use equipment is located in the center of the space. Plywood is also used in the entrance to create both a work out (climbing) and storage – sitting area.
